Did you miss “No Fear Molecular Biology” at MLA?
No Problem! You can take it at MCMLA 2009 in Breckenridge for a very good price. We are offering this class Monday, Sept. 21st from 9:30 – 5.
Helen-Ann Epstein and Collette Saccomanno have recently created this class to address the lack of genetics searching courses since NCBI ceased to offer their Field Course and Advanced Course in molecular biology searching. Participants at MLA said:
"I found the pairing of the science with the practical clinical application and references to instructional materials very helpful"
"The knowledge of the instructors and how they kept bringing the points back to our daily work was very helpful"
Course Description: Spend 8 hours fascinated but not afraid. Get to know your way around DNA, RNA, and gene maps...you'll have a BLAST, and won't even want to BLINK as a librarian colleague who also holds a PhD in Molecular Biology gets to share her knowledge in a nonthreatening way. With concepts clear, take an Evidence-Based approach led by a librarian colleague expert searcher to interpret stories, fill in background knowledge, compose the searchable question and use the NCBI resources to find the answer.

This class carries 6.5 MLA CE credits and will cost only $90 (a lot less than it was offered for at MLA!). Lunch will be provided.
Very Helpful Indeed!
Sign up will be available when MCMLA registration is again available (we apologize for the delay) and will be linked from this page: http://www.mcmla.org/meetings/2009/.
Please mark your calendars!
